Netsol releases white paper: Pros and Cons of Pay per Click vs. SEO.
***FS*** Why would a registrar go to all the trouble of writing a white paper on this stuff? It’s not to sell more domains, that’s for sure.. I smell a shift happening.. Registrar’s are worse copycats than Domainers.. Watch what happens at Godaddy / Tucows / Enom if Netsol gets any traction with this stuff.

NetSol is no more a registrar than GoDaddy is. Yeah, those are big parts of their businesses, but the wolf in the sheeps clothing is their webhosting business (in both cases). This is pretty standard fare for webhosting companies nowadays. They’ll get their lead list from the downloads and push a bunch of their customers to consider buying some of their high margin search marketing services. Not a lot to see here really.
Ditto what Ross said. IIRC contractual agreements prevented them originally from offering hosting until VeriSign finally sold them off.
Now they’re free to chart their own destiny. I’d have to say I’m rather “impressed” their business model works, considering they’re offering a myriad of services with seemingly no single concentration on one of them.
