***FS***  Everyone’s favorite type of porn is “free porn” of course.  :)

Never underestimate the power of the word FREE..  While National A-1 advertising was very wise to secure free.com so many years ago, it’s the more qualified, top compound search phrases such as free sex, free porn, free movies, free games, free music etc etc..  (and it’s a remarkably short list of poignant etceteras before you trickle into the longtail of irrelevance) which make for the strongest 2 word domains and biggest name monetizers.  There are a few thousand really meaningful two and three word “free” domain names in the coveted .com space.. this was one of the biggest. I foolishly sold a similar ‘big’ name to a friend earlier in the year..  my bad…  his good.

I wonder what the real figure on that sale turns out to be. Whilst those free keywords generate a lot of traffic, not sure how well they convert to dollars.

My specialty is window cleaning. I bought up the discount and cheap extensions of window cleaning. I see no value in the free extension for my business.

***FS*** You’re right Pete.. it doesn’t work for everything.. but it does for some stuff: ie. freecreditreport.com

“Free” was one of the keywords on my list when we were looking for IDNs. I think I have managed to nail down the best version in a few languages.

Free.info is for sale at Sedo.
It appears the minimum bid is $9,999 US

Frank, we all know you don’t like .info (although many domainers say they make larger margins on .info sales than .com sales) but this name is interesting.
