Ebay Builds Some Bad Karma

EbadI have never liked Ebay’s IP approach..  they run software that sends out blanket bullshit CD’s to every registrant owning a name incorporating "eBay" including completely unrelated names like "prudhoebayrealestate.com". Companies with an entitlement mindset like this get no love from me.  I don’t buy or sell on eBay :)

Ebay was late, had no mark, they should have offered to buy the name (arms length) from Munarriz

Thanks to Mel Bass for the link!

Incredible. It takes a lot of chutzpah. I won’t have anything to do with them either.

Windorphins? How about Ebully but I like Ebad also. It seems like he had to back down since he wanted to be able to cover them again but this stuff really is a bunch of ebullSh*t.

Bottom line is if your lazy marketing department cant reg a name before its talked about publicly then shut the fu*k up and pay for the mistake. If there is no predating trademark then tough luck. Ebay doesn’t even insure domain name purchases. Ebay without escrow is a no-no. They need to shore up some things at that company and not worry about catchy tag lines all the time.
